Speaking & Policy

I speak to fellow academics, policymakers, corporate leaders, and students about how tax policy and related regulation actually change firm behaviour. My talks are grounded in evidence, not opinions. I draw on established and the most recent empirical research insights, produced by myself and others. Through my regular interactions with corporate leaders, journalists as well as social media influencers, I always aim to make my research accessible and actionable for a broad audience.

Core Topics

Tax policy and business

Evidence from my own and surveyed research, paired with timely data analyses of tax reforms and firms' tax sensitivity across countries.

The global tax reform and what it means for business

The OECD's Pillar Two minimum tax is the biggest change to corporate taxation in a century. What the evidence says about who bears it, how markets priced it, and how firms are responding.

Tax policy for sustainability

Carbon taxes, green incentives, and the risk of carbon leakage — what works, what backfires, and what the data from European firms shows.

ESG disclosure — talk versus walk

Evidence from the private equity industry on whether ESG claims translate into real changes in portfolio companies, and what regulators should take from it.

Transparency regulation and multinational firms

Country-by-country reporting, public disclosure mandates, and their real effects on investment, employment, and tax planning.

AI for research, tax, and the finance function

How AI agents are changing empirical research and corporate tax and finance work — a practitioner-oriented view from the frontier.
